Jane is a senior majoring in Chemistry and Physics. She has completed a summer of research at Coe College, an REU program at Clemson University, and a summer research program in University of Rochester’s Bioengineering Department. After Coe, she hopes to pursue a graduate degree in Biomedical Engineering, specifically Tissue Engineering.
Patrick is a senior studying Physics and Chemistry. He has completed three summers of research at Coe College and continues to work throughout the school year primarily with Laser Ionization Time of Flight mass spectrometry and making glass scintillators. Although studying to become a materials scientist, Patrick's real aspirations can be summed up as wanting to be Doctor Strange. Or Sherlock Holmes. Or probably any other character portrayed by world-class actor Benadryl Cucumberpatch. His favorite quote is by the great philosopher, Mick Jagger, who once said: "You can't always get what you want."
Jenya is a senior student majoring in Physics and Economics, and minoring in Mathematics. He is originally from Moscow, Russia and is on the Coe College tennis team.
Martha is a sophomore majoring in Physics and Math. She has completed a summer of research at Coe College on tellurite glasses and is continuing this project during the school year. She is also involved in track and field, band, WinSTEM club, math club, and is currently a STEMpath Ambassador for The National Science Foundation. After college, she hopes to be in graduate school studying materials science.
Rebecca is a physics major and chemistry minor. She is a lover of all things cute and adorable and her three favorite passions in life are physics, research and eating. You can almost always find her in the physics lounge since she only leaves when there's food somewhere else. She loves meeting new people and can talk for hours on end about food, video games and glass. She also has an amazing meme collection on her phone.
Luke is a junior majoring in Physics and Computer Science. He has completed a summer of research at Coe College working for Prof. Akgun. After Coe, he hopes to go to graduate school.
Annie is currently a junior physics and Spanish major, conducting computational research with Ugur. I spent this past summer working with the U.S. Department of Energy at the National Energy Technology Laboratory on approaches to carbon capture techniques and storage.
